  • Upcoming Important Dates:

  • Welcome Back K – 12 Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff Evening

    Tuesday, September 2, 2014 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.

    Please join us for a Meet and Greet from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. in classrooms.

    ·         A time to see your child(ren)’s classroom(s) and meet their teacher(s);

    ·         A time for teachers to provide parents with important information and updates;

    ·         A time to learn the expectation of the courses;

    ·         A time to exchange contact information (parents & teachers);

    ·         A time to meet new parents and greet old friends.

    Please join us for an Administrative Welcome from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

    ·   An introduction and welcome by Superintendent, Cynthia Ford-Johnston and Principal, Adam Facteau.

    ·        A brief review of expectations, updates and information including an introduction to the School Tool Data Management System Parent Portal.

    This evening is designed to begin the school year in a positive and festive manner.  This is not a time to discuss specific needs or concerns regarding your child with their new teacher – that would be better handled with a private conference scheduled at a later time.

  • Important Faculty/Staff Email Update: We have upgraded our email system from Novell Groupwise to Microsoft Exchange.  With this upgrade there will be some slight changes to the way you access email.  You will still be able to get to your email through the Westport website (faculty/Staff page) by using your email address as your username and the password you use to log in to your machine/computer at school. Please "refresh" the faculty/staff page to access the new email link.

  • Important Information:

  • 2014-2015 Supply Lists page has been updated with some new information. Several deprtments/classes are still "To be determined".

  • Arrival & Dismissal Times, Early Release Reminders

  • During the school year, the building will be open daily for students beginning at 7:40 a.m.

  • All students should arrive between 7:40 -  8:00 a.m.

  • Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria from 7:40 - 8:00 a.m.

  • Attendance will be taken promptly at 8:05 a.m.

  • The school day officially begins at 8:05 a.m.  All students are expected to be in their assigned classrooms at this time.  Students arriving after 8:05 a.m. will be marked tardy as outlined in our Attendance Policy.

  • All students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

  • The main office will need to be notified in advance by a parent/guardian should there be a need to change the regular arrival/dismissal routine of a student (i.e.:  change in bus route, parent pick up instead of bus ride, early release, etc.).

  • Documentation will be required for any absence, late arrival and/or early departure.

  • Visitors During The School Day
    In order to be certain that all of our students are safe, we need to be sure parents, family members and other visitors are aware of and adhere to the sign in and out procedures.
    Any person visiting the school during school hours (7:40 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.) for any reason must:

  • Report directly to the main office.

  • Sign the Visitor Sign In/Out Sheet.

  • Obtain and affix a “Visitor Tag” if you will be entering the building beyond the lobby.

  • Obtain permission to enter the building beyond the lobby.

  • Wait in the lobby unless directed otherwise.

  • Return Visitor Tag and sign out of the building when exiting.

  • School Bus Safety
    Our students are expected to follow the three bus safety rules when riding our WCS buses:
    Sit, Buckle, Stay in Your Seat
    . Please take a moment to review the School Bus Safety expectations with your child.  It is our intent to see that every school bus ride is a safe school bus ride.  For more information on School Bus Safety, please visit the National Safety Council's website.
