Teacher Interview with Mrs. Rawson

How long have you been teaching the 3rd grade?

This is my second year.

What subjects do you teach?

All fundamental subjects, science, math, reading, writing, and social studies.

What are you teaching the students about this week?

Multiplication in math, state testing, food webs in science, and using imagination in reading.

How long do you usually study any one topic?

A few weeks depending on how quickly the students understand the topic, and how much information is in that topic, usually 2-5 weeks.

What subject have you found to be the easiest to teach to kids at this age, and what subject if any is hard to teach while keeping the kids focused?

Science is easiest the kids seem to have more energy to learn. It’s not harder to teach but social studies is probably their least favorite subject to learn.
