• It has come to our attention that there is a discrepancy in the student handbook involving tardiness, detention, and extracurricular activities.  As such, the updated policy is as follows:

    Updated Attendance/Tardy/Detention Policy: (October 2015)

    1)      If a student is absent, the student will not participate in extracurricular activities that day, unless the student has documentation of a legal excuse.

    2)      If a student is tardy with a note showing a legal excuse, the student will be able to participate in extracurricular activities that day.  If illness is involved, the student may not participate that day.

    3)      If a student is tardy with an illegal excuse, the student will serve a detention the next day and as such will not participate in extracurricular activities on that next day

    4)      If a student is tardy for a known illegal reason and arrives before 11:00am, the student will serve a detention that day and as such will not participate in extracurricular activities on that day.

    5)      If a student is tardy for a known illegal reason and arrives after 11:00am, the student will serve a detention the next day and as such will not participate in extracurricular activities on the next day.

    6)      Any circumstance involving tardiness not described here will be addressed and assigned a consequence by the building principal.

    * A student who is not participating means that he or she will not attend the event.  It does not mean that a student may attend and only watch the event.

Any questions on this matter can be directed to Mr. Meyer.  Thank you for the efforts you have all made in arriving to school on time.
