    WCS also requires ALL students to take:  Public Speaking (0.5 credit), College Preparation (0.5 credit) and Career & Financial Management (1.0 credit) for any diploma option.

    A Local Diploma option is also possible for those students who are eligible for this credential.  

    The coursework required is the same as coursework required for a Regents diploma.

    A Local Diploma has different exam requirements.  Please see the School Counselor for complete details.

    For a Regents Diploma, eligible students may have the opportunity to meet the Exam requirements through an alternative Pathway.  This would allow students to use an alternative exam for one designated Regents exam.  See the School Counselor for the most current options approved by New York State.

     

    Diploma Honors

    • HONORS is awarded when the scores of all Regents exams required by the diploma are averaged and equal 90.00% or better.  This could apply to a Regents or Regents with Advanced Designation diploma.

     

    • MASTERY is awarded for Mathematics and/or Science when a student earns at least an 85% on each of the three related Regents exams.  For Mathematics, the exams include Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II/Trigonometry.  For Science, the exams include Living Environment, Earth Science and Chemistry OR Physics.

     

    • CTE Endorsement is awarded to students who are completing a CTE program.  These students must show outstanding academic achievement in their program and also earn an outstanding score on the national exam at the end of their two-year program.  This could apply to a Regents or Regents with Advanced Designation diploma.
